🍑 Peach Girl Summer loading 🍑
Hello, my lovelies! I hope you’re enjoying warmer weather, wherever you are. We’ve had loads of rain here in Texas. Just ask Gingersnap, who has now learned what thunderstorms are. She is not a fan, for the record. But, as the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers and I’m particularly excited about peony season. Unfortunately for poor Gingersnap, she’s also hilariously not a fan of flower arrangements.
Flower phobia aside, Gingersnap is doing great in her new puppy class. We’ve been having lots of fun learning things like sit and down and making new puppy friends. There’s a French bulldog in her class named Ruby who looks like a tiny, adorable potato, and a long-haired Dachshund with the most gorgeous blonde coat and long eyelashes. She’s like a puppy version of Barbie. Our class is on a break for three weeks now, but we’re already counting the days until it starts up again in June.
Speaking of dog-related things, the Fiesta Pooch Parade was last month, and Charm and Gingersnap rode in their stroller, which I decorated with loads of hand-crocheted roses! I know I’ve been talking about that project for a couple months, and I was so pleased with how everything turned out. We had a great time and met a lot of knitters, crocheters and crafters who wanted to get a closer look and chat with us about our “float.”
A lot of fun things have happened in my author life since my last newsletter. I can’t share all of it quite yet, but I do have one big, sparkly announcement to make! I just signed a new contract with Harlequin Love Inspired for SIX MORE BOOKS in my Alaska series! I’m so tickled about this, I can barely stand it. As you might know, Training Her Alaskan K-9 was the first book in this series. It came out at the end of January and is now a New York Times bestseller (cupcakes all around! 🧁). The next book is called An Alaskan K-9 Blessing, and it hits store shelves on August 25. I just got my advance author copies in the mail, and they are stunning!! How sweet is this cover?! You can click here to pre-order your copy!
Next month, I’ll be doing a special giveaway for an early copy of An Alaskan K-9 Blessing, along with some fun gift items, so keep an eye on my newsletter and my Instagram! One of my dear author friends and I are doing a special crafty collab, and we’re excited to announce it next month. Until then, it’s a secret. 🤐
I recently spent a few days in Fredericksburg, Texas, for a writing retreat with my dear friend Julia London. Fredericksburg is famous for their peaches, and we both went home with a treasure trove of peach products. I just ate the last of my delicious peach halves in a jar, and I’m ready to drive back for more. I’ve decided to officially declare this season my PEACH GIRL SUMMER. 🍑 Here are some peachy favorites I’ll be enjoying for the next few months…
🍑 Peach Ice Cream!
So delicious, especially in summertime. My favorite brand for peach-flavored ice cream is Tillamook. What’s yours?
🍑 The new Peach Blossom & Nectar Vera Bradley collab at Bath & Body Works
Let me just admit that I’m crazy about Bath & Body Works. I love their bath products and candles. I’m not even going to say how much of their body cream I go through in a year. I went shopping for Mother’s Day gifts there recently and was delighted to discover this new peachy fragrance! I’m obsessed!
🍑 Peach pie!!!! This is the time of year I always start making peach pies. They taste even better when you buy the peaches from a farm stand. Yum! This is the recipe I use, and believe me, it’s a good one! I’ve been going to the farmers market at our neighborhood park every Saturday for fresh veggies, sourdough and farm-fresh eggs. Praying for fresh peaches this weekend!
🍑 Peach jam and peach syrup
Peach jam is one of my very favorite things, so of course I stocked up on that in Fredericksburg, and I just found out that you can also buy it online!
Did I miss anything? Hit us up with your favorite peachy things!
xoxo Teri, Charm & Gingersnap
